British Chamber of Business in Southern Africa Appoints Jason Morris as New Co-Vice Chair of the Board

The British Chamber of Business in Southern Africa (BCBSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Morris as the new Co-Vice Chair of the BCB Africa Board, alongside Jonathan Foster-Pedley from Henley Business School Africa. Jason Morris, a renowned Attorney and Joint Managing Director of Snaid & Morris Attorneys, brings a wealth of legal expertise and a deep understanding of international business relations to the Chamber.

Jason Morris’s appointment as Vice-Chair is a significant milestone for the BCB. His extensive experience and commitment to legal excellence will be invaluable in advancing our mission of fostering business relations between Southern Africa and the United Kingdom.

As a director of the BCB, Jason has played a pivotal role in updating the legal compliance and governance requirements of the Chamber. His close collaboration with the British Council in South Africa has been instrumental in promoting education, arts, and culture between the two jurisdictions.

Jason holds an LLB degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of the Republic of South Africa with the right of appearance in all superior courts. Additionally, he has a qualification from the University of Pretoria in debt management.

Throughout his distinguished career, Jason has served on the boards of various local and international companies in both South Africa and the United Kingdom. His leadership roles include chairing several multinational corporations within South Africa, reflecting his ability to navigate complex legal and business landscapes.

Jason is an active member of the South African Rescue and Insolvency Practitioners Association (SARIPA) and the International Association of Restructuring Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals (INSOL). His expertise extends to advising multi-national companies on local and international requirements, inward and outward investment, business rescues, insolvency, and sequestration matters.

With an Associate office in London, Jason advises numerous UK companies on South African legal requirements and cross-border insolvency issues. His deep knowledge of the UNICITRAL Model Law on International Trade Law and international transport law further enhances his ability to guide clients on global trends and governance.

We are honoured to have Jason take on the role of Vice-Chair of the BCBSA Board. We look forward to continuing to strengthen the ties between Southern Africa and the United Kingdom, ensuring that our members benefit from robust legal and business support.
